I am from a very small town named Godley. It is thirty minutes south of Fort Worth with a population of 800. In a town this small your friends become your brother and sisters. I played on the basketball team and sooner or later they weren't my teammates they were my family.
When I was a fresman my parents got divorced. My mom moved to Dallas and my father stayed in Godley with me. He stayed with me until he had a stroke. Because of his bad health, he had to move closer to my mom so she could take care of him. So I was left with two choices, move in with a friend, or move to Dallas with my family.
I chose to move in with my friend and it was probably one of the hardest choices I have ever made. The reason I picked it though is because I knew I could succeed at Godley. My basketball team kept my grades up and my friends kept me involved. I knew moving to a big school my sophomore year would be hard. I would have to find new friends that I know couldn't compare. I would have to earn a spot on the basketball team.

Hey Kristi..
Well from your blog I could just imagine how that could be
Living with friends always seems fun but everyone knows you can't live with them! HaHa But I'm glad things worked out for you. I wish well to your parents!
Hey....nice seeing you before history today.
I read your post and it reminds me a lot of my sophomore to junior year summer. I had been living with my grandma since I can rememeber. Well that summer she had a seizure and had to have brain surgery. My mom wanted me to move with her and transfer schools. I didn't want to transfer because I was so accustomed to my current school. So I made a deal with my mom and told her that I would come stay with her only if i could stay at my current school. It worked out and staying there led me to Texas State.
GO BOBCATS!!!!!!!
